Gothic Wedding Week in honor of World Goth Day…Cakes!

I’m super excited about this week’s posts in support of World Goth Day! In addition to acceptance, World Goth Day activities encourage support for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation such as the album, “Hope.” “Hope” is a compilation CD from some of the best goth musicians in the scence. I encourage you to follow the links to learn more about Sophie Lancaster and how her death is helping to educate youth in hopes of teaching them tolerance and acceptance of all people despite appearance or lifestyle.

This old goth is keen to show you that what constitutes “Goth” is a spectrum of design and music for those who identify as “Goth” such as myself. Me, I’m considered an “elder” of my local goth community and I am proud that our Colorado goth community is more than just a gathering of folks in black clothes that hit up the local dance clubs. We support our youth via age appropriate dance nights (G and PG rated), art shows, and a community center where kids can come and hang out in an environment free from prejudice and the temptations of the street.

So, let’s start of the week with cakes! From glamorous ruffles and lace to an homage to “Frankenweenie,” you are sure to find a fave among all of these wonderful confections. Enjoy, and please return tomorrow for more goth eye candy!
