Good afternoon! Thanks for hanging in there with me. As my long-time readers will know, I am always preaching about details. It’s the details that make an ordinary wedding theme extraordinary. One of those details that can set the tone for the celebration is the wedding cake. Whether you choose a dark elaborate fondant creation or a slightly more traditional cake with a raven inspired topper, I definitely encourage you to get a cake that represents who you are as a couple.
Here are some great cake and cake topper ideas for your goth nuptials.
Next on World Goth Day: Wedding Dresses! In my experience, once engaged, a bride typically goes looking for a dress before anything else. I think we all like to play dress up and this is the ultimate dress up situation for most. If you are planning for a goth inspired wedding, finding bridal gowns in mainstream shops can be next to impossible. This is where sites like Etsy and custom dress makers such as Wedding Dress Fantasy come in. They can give you the dress of your dreams without compromising who you are. I do have to give props to Vera Wang for her last two collections provided a great couture interpretation of what many goth brides are looking for.
Here are some great dresses for inspiration and direct links to how you can get them. Enjoy!
Morning all! Tips or Trends Tuesday is taking a break for today in order for this old goth to celebrate World Goth Day. “World Goth Day is exactly what it says on the wrapper-a day where the goth scene gets to celebrate its own being, and an opportunity to make its presence known to the rest of the world. This day falls on 22nd May of every year.” -http://www.worldgothday.com/
We start today with flowers and bouquets. If you are looking for black fresh flowers to use for your goth wedding, here are 12 to get you started on your search and to show to your florist. There are very few truly black flowers. Many are very dark red and purples. So, keep this in mind when you are working with your florist or floral designer.
In addition to fresh black flowers, I have a great group of goth and goth inspired bridal bouquet selections that are sure to inspire your dark fete.
Stay tuned as there is more to come on the blog today!
Here’s a hilarious pic of myself and my fiance at Huntington Beach in CA last year. Two old goths braving the sunlight at the beach…lol.
